We have over 80,000 square feet of our own family-owned greenhouses producing bedding plants, flats, combination pots and hanging baskets. 95% of the plants we sell are grown right here at Big John's.

Big John's is known for our unique combination planters and hanging baskets. Our designs use beautiful color combinations, interplays of texture, and nicely balanced shapes. We also do special planters in unique baskets and wire frames, terra cotta and stone pots, whimsical containers, anything that captures our creativity!

season so that you can be sure we are offering you our very best and freshest selection of home grown vegetables.

Detour: Joe Orr Rd going east is closed at Cottage Grove Ave. You will find detour signs posted. They will route you north on Cottage Grove Ave, east at Glenwood Dyer Rd and south on Stony Island back to Joe Orr Rd. Turn east (left) and find us on the right side, 1/4 mile down. This detour is only about 5 minutes.
